It was an interesting and amazing experience.I'd recommend making reservations since they're only open for a few hours per day. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff was very attentive. They were constantly coming around filing our cups and making sure we didn’t need anything. There was a little bit of wait between appetizers and entrees so I would say to expect to spend about an hour and a half to two hours there. My table ordered a variety of food and we all shared family style. We had the ribeye, lamb, pork and 3 different pastas. Overall, all the food was very tasty. The pork was a bit dry but still tasty. The pasta with shrimp was good. One was dairy free and more lemony, which made it more refreshing. Everyone agreed that the ribeye was the best, and may be one of the best they've had in town. We also had the tres leches cake that was very good as well. I would say, this place would be a very good date night place or the place to go for a special celebration.
We were traveling from Missouri and ended our trip here and it was absolutely fantastic experience. Gents (sp?) was our server and he made our experience fantastic. You can tell he took pride in his work and was proud to work there. I had the short rib ravioli and it was delicious. My husband had the flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce. The sourdough bread was fantastic. We are road tripping and were worried we’d be under dressed in jeans and nice shirts but maybe because it was Oktoberfest weekend everyone was super casual. It was a tad loud maybe because of drunk Oktoberfesters, mainly the people at the bar. The wine list was insane and whiskey/bourbon choices were plentiful. If we lived here we would come here regularly. We are well traveled foodies and not easily impressed and this place was delightful.
Love child was amazing from start to finish!! The atmosphere was amazing! The bar was amazing! The food was above amazing! The flavors were out of this world! If you want to take your date/partner on an amazing date, this is a very romantic setting and will not disappoint. The lamb shanks were melt in your mouth tender, The rigatoni had amazing flavors, and the lamb skewer appetizer was unique! Incredible flavors on each entree!! We also got the crepes with sweet black cherries & an almond butter sauce that was oh, so delicious 😋 Best experience we have ever had ❤️
We had an outstanding experience at Lovechild this evening. We stopped in around 7:30, and since it was going to be a little wait for a table, we chose to dine at the bar. We were assisted by a few different team members of the restaurant, and every one of them treated us like they were our primary server. We had the triple fried fries for a starter which were absolutely unbelievably delicious. I had the ribeye, and it was hands down the best ribeye I have had. It was hard to decide on which dessert to get (I wish I could have tried all of them!) So we got two and I am so glad we did. We had the pistachio creme brule and the crepes, and they were so tasty and a perfect way to end the meal. I could tell from my time this evening at Lovechild that the owners are incredibly passionate about providing a wonderful experience to their guests, and it showed through every aspect of my experience.
Easily the best restaurant in La Crosse. We found it to be an amazing place for Valentine's day The romantic restaurant features outstanding meals, literally the best place we have eaten in years! The pan fried tenderloin with pepper sauce was out of this world. The chef cooked it to perfection. While the lobster tagliatelle centered on the large chucks of lobster tail, the pasta was extremely good. The service was also outstanding - they show up when you need them without hovering.
This place is phenomenal! The atmosphere is classy but very comfortable. We were served by Mia and she was fantastic. Professional but very nice and personal. The food was amazing. The lamb skewer starter was incredible. Makes for a great fancy date night.
A wonderful evening start to finish! I am gluten sensitive. Beautiful atmosphere with a fantastic bar, professional bartenders and very tasty cocktails (spicy beet drop!) Apple salad was so fresh and clever. Hubs rigatoni was a step above with very tender sausage. My lamb shank was stellar! Seems to be everyone's favorite dish. The desserts did not disappoint. Hubs ice cream duo was tasty and unique. My flourless chocolate torte was also a step above-- very fluffy, not a heavy fudge bomb-- and comes with a coffee mascarpone. Wanting less caffeine, I asked for the tart cherry sauce from the ice cream duo. Great finish!!! Kara was a wonderful server. The whole staff is fine tuned and impressive to see. Some locals were touting other places on Reddit (maybe say this was overrated?) but I can't imagine a better meal for a nice night out!
Always a wonderful experience! I have a pretty basic palette but have come here 3 times and never once did I not like anything! The waitstaff is extremely proffesional and courteous and works very very well together! Drinks are top notch and the food quality and taste incredible! I cannot get over the atmosphere and the design of everything. Not sure what else to add, other than you have got to give this one a try! I bet their sous chef is a rockstar!
Lovechild served us a memorable meal. We arrived early, and by the time we left it was nearly full. Since the service and atmosphere are definitely top-notch the value is there. Made from scratch dishes delivered on taste and texture. A child any mother could love...
Exquisite! The apple and cheese salad was uniform cut and the flavor perfectly balance. Pure joy in every bite! The pappardelle noodles perfectly cooked and each one was evenly coated with the sauce. Amazing!! The pistachio crème brûlée on point and heavenly. Overall nothing was over salted or overly sweet. Flavors pair well. My server knew the menu very well and explain each dish with poise and patience. She wiped the table in between coarses with a crumb tray and clean white cloth then set me up for the next dish with proper placement. I also observed the staff being courteous and professional with each other. Excellent staff! 100% enjoyed my evening meal!
